About Me

My name is Alyssa Lyman and I am studying Dance Education at Brigham Young University (BYU). I was born and raised in Mapleton, Utah which is only a few miles south of Provo. I grew up loving to read, sing, run, play the piano, and of course to dance.

Most of my dance training was done in BYU's Children's and Teen's Creative Dance Program on their dance company. I also took a decent amount of Ballet from Jennie Creer King at the Classical Ballet Academy and Center Stage Performing Arts Studio.

My dance teaching experience comes from being a TA and a substitute in the BYU Creative Dance program, being on the BYU Kinnect dance company, and now being an Arts Bridge Scholar. I have a deep love for children and teaching them through a medium I believe they are naturally versed in — movement.

I hope to be teaching dance to young minds for many years to come.

I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for my mother who inspired me in my dance and in my life. She is my greatest teacher. I hope to facilitate this inspiration and joy for children and youth as she did for me.
