Collaboration
This week, I learned the value of collaborating and asking questions. I asked my mentor some questions regarding the curriculum that I was teaching, and she sent me so many great resources to help me teach, gain ideas, or gain understanding of the content so that I could teach it better. She gave me so many wonderful things to use. This is something that I will take with me into a career -- ask questions! Ask for help or ideas from more experienced teachers. They will have ideas and lesson plans to help.
Also, today was the most fun that the students and I had together! I taught them the Rock Cycle today and they ate it up. They had so many ideas and thoughts about the subject. I led them through an improvisation that ended up being a dance for the rock cycle. They had a member of the administration come watch them perform it and they loved the praise and attention that they got for it, and so the teacher may invite their parents to come watch them do it again on my last day with them in December. It was SO fun today, I can't wait to go back next week!
